Two Students Accused of Embezzling SISP Scholarship Funds The Shaker International Scholarship Program (SISP), a small private nonprofit organization (NGO) dedicated to empowering disadvantaged students and supporting impoverished families in Bangladesh, has issued an urgent public appeal following a devastating act of internal theft by two Bangladeshi college students. SISP alleges that two former scholarship recipients and work/study program college students—Samia Islam Farzana, an honors student at Titumir Government College, daughter of Mu. Idris Ali Rana and Mst. Shilpi Begum and Md Shahad Anwar Shadhin, an honors student at Adamijee Cantonment College, Son of Shah Md Rafiqul Islam and Shahnaz Parveen - committed a calculated act of fraud and sabotage and unimaginable crimes against the very organization that supported and nurtured them for years."These individuals were not outsiders. They were people we mentored, clothed, fed, and treated like family," said Mr. M. Shaker. Founder of SISP. On April 12, 2025, they infiltrated our operations, stole over 1.8 million BDT in cash and electronics, erased our online presence, looted internal records, stole computers and equipment, and disappeared—without remorse or accountability." SISP calls on journalists, civic leaders, and citizens to stand in solidarity and help expose this betrayal. A case Case No. CR-371/2025 has been filed against the individuals .
