Shaker International Scholarship Programs (SISP) announces that it is permanently ending all previous scholarship activities and program structures in Bangladesh.

This decision follows serious operational, compliance, and trust concerns that arose during prior programs involving college-age beneficiaries and local program activity. Those circumstances made it impossible for SISP to continue operating its former scholarship model responsibly and with the standard of accountability required by its founder, Morad Shaker.

SISP is deeply sorry that these circumstances have limited its ability to serve Bangladesh more broadly. The organization remains grateful to the many honest people who supported its mission; however, protecting beneficiaries, program integrity, and organizational resources must always come first.

One New, Limited Program

SISP will now operate only one carefully controlled initiative in Bangladesh: the Morad Shaker Bangladesh Angel Scholarship.

This program is designed exclusively for vulnerable children, especially children ages 6 to 13 who have lost their father and are living in small cities or villages. The purpose is simple: to help innocent children remain in school and have a better opportunity for a secure future.

Approved Angel Scholars may receive support initially for four to six months. Subject to continued verification, good standing, available funding, and program compliance, support may be renewed over time and may continue toward higher levels of education.

Local Verification and Accountability

Applications will be available online through ShakerGlobalNews.com. Local trusted members in Bangladesh will be responsible for:

  • Identifying and referring eligible children;
  • Reviewing family circumstances and supporting documents;
  • Verifying the child’s identity and school status;
  • Recommending qualified applicants for approval; and
  • Monitoring the proper use of program support.

SISP will provide benefits only after the required review and approval process is completed.

This new program depends entirely on the honesty, responsibility, and cooperation of the local people entrusted with these duties. Any misuse of information, falsification, misconduct, or violation of program rules will result in immediate review and may lead to the permanent closure of the Angel Scholarship in Bangladesh.

Financial Impact of the Past 16 Months

Over the past 16 months, Bangladesh served as the pilot country for both Operation Bangladesh and Shaker International Scholarship Programs (SISP). It was intended to become a long-term model of educational opportunity, humanitarian service, and local partnership.

However, according to SISP’s internal accounting, approximately 98% of the resources spent in Bangladesh during this period were directed toward legal fees, safeguarding the organization’s interests, addressing operational disruptions, losses experienced by business partners, and efforts to investigate and resolve serious program-related concerns. Only an estimated 1–2% of the resources went directly to student support.

This is not the outcome SISP ever intended. After years of service and investment, the organization was placed in a position it never expected to face: spending its resources on protection, accountability, and response rather than on the students and families it was created to help.

SISP regrets deeply that Bangladesh did not receive the broader opportunity originally planned. The organization believes the country had the potential to benefit from a much larger educational and humanitarian initiative. That opportunity can only exist where programs are protected by honesty, responsible local leadership, and respect for the people and organizations trying to serve.

Public Information

Updates, program rules, application information, and verified announcements will be published through ShakerGlobalNews.com.

SISP will also publish factual information about past program concerns through the International Scam Center section of Shaker Global News, as appropriate and supported by documentation. The purpose is transparency, public awareness, and protection of future beneficiaries and partners.

Legal and Public-Information Notice

SISP is preparing to bring documented concerns connected to its former Bangladesh scholarship operations to the appropriate United States federal authorities for review, as permitted by law.

SISP believes that its ability to resolve certain matters locally was significantly limited for months. The organization is therefore preparing to pursue lawful avenues to protect its programs, resources, partners, and beneficiaries.

SISP and its founder, Morad Shaker, reserve all rights to publicly release accurate, documented information concerning suspected scholarship-related fraud, misuse, or other misconduct, subject to legal advice, privacy obligations, and applicable law. Any public release will be based on verified records and made for the purposes of transparency, accountability, and protecting future beneficiaries.

The Morad Shaker Bangladesh Angel Scholarship is now the only remaining SISP program in Bangladesh. It is a limited, carefully verified final effort to serve innocent children. Its continuation will depend entirely on compliance, transparency, and the responsible conduct of every person involved.
