Scholarship Opportunities for Women in Bangladesh: Breaking Barriers, Building Futures
October 6, 2024

Scholarship opportunities for women in Bangladesh remain limited, particularly for those facing difficult personal circumstances such as single motherhood, marriage, or the loss of parental support. Gender inequality and societal expectations continue to restrict women’s access to education and professional growth.
The Shaker International Scholarship Programs (SISP) are committed to breaking these barriers by offering targeted scholarships designed specifically for women who are most vulnerable to exclusion.
SISP places special emphasis on supporting single mothers who are students. These women often balance caregiving, income responsibilities, and education under intense financial and social pressure. SISP provides financial aid, mentorship, and academic flexibility to help them succeed.
Married female students also face significant barriers, as traditional expectations often pressure them to abandon education. SISP ensures married women are not excluded, offering scholarships that allow them to pursue academic goals alongside family responsibilities.
Orphaned female students are among the most vulnerable groups. Without parental support, many are unable to access higher education. SISP provides these students with financial assistance, mentorship, and emotional support to rebuild stability and hope.
At its core, SISP challenges gender-based discrimination. The program is built on the belief that women are the foundation of society and must be given equal access to education and opportunity.
By investing in women’s education, SISP is not only empowering individuals but also strengthening families, communities, and the future of Bangladesh. Educated women become leaders, contributors, and role models for generations to come.
